Showcasing a variety of techniques and materials, a small group of 2nd year painting, drawing and printmaking students from Coleg Sirgar students put together a small show at the Apothecary’s Hall at the National Botanical Garden of Wales – with the opening last Saturday May 4th, and running until June
Most interesting were the collaborative projects in Enamel and Woodcut.
The beautifully hung installation of enamel ‘luggage tags’ are uniquely designed pieces by the student collective, comprising of words and images relating to medicinal herbs and old remedies.
The Woodcut was an interesting arrangement of individual prints that had been dissected and re-assembled into a grand mosaic-like wall-hanging.
There were also workshops and individual artworks by students and staff Cath Fairgreaves and Lyndon Davies.
Here’s a link to the event and the student’s own write-ups.
The exhibition runs throughout May 10am – 6pm
